Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has bemoaned that the President Akufo-Addo’s administration has been facing tough times healing the Ghanaian economy which he said was broken under former President Mahama’s government.
He noted that the healing process has not been easy; ‘it has been tough; it has been restraining.’
According to him, “the economy under the Mahama’s administration was in severe crisis.”
He said the economy was broken but has had to be fixed by the President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Mr. Ofori-Atta said these in an address to lawmakers in Parliament today, March 28, 2019, on Ghana’s successful completion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF’s) Extended Credit Facility.
His address also focused on Ghana’s historic $3 billion Eurobond, and recent developments on the foreign exchange market and the Ghanaian cedi.
He noted that the year 2016 under the Mahama’s administration was characterized by excessive fiscal dominance more than what was observed in 2012 electioneering year.
That, he said, meant that it was impossible for Ghana to end the IMF’s ECF programme in 2018 as scheduled.
He outlined 27 achievements of the Akufo-Addo’s administration since assuming power over two years ago, which included 12 structural benchmarks.
He spoke about how government’s economic policies have helped stabilized inflation in Ghana and has brought about an overall macroeconomic stability.

If that Economy was broken I will prefer a broken one to what you claim is a fixed one. Pure st...dity. Clueless family government.
OOH UNCLE OFORI ATTA, WHY SHOULD YOU BE SPEAKING THIS WAY. IT WAS BAD AND YOU SAID IF YOU COME YOU WILL DO IT BETTER. NOW YOU HAVE COME WHY THEN DO YOU HAVE TO STILL MAKE REFERENCE WHEN YOU SAID YOU COULD DO IT BETTER. YOU SAID YOU HAD THE MEN, IF YOU HAVE FAIL, THEN LEAVE THE KITCHEN AND DON NOT EVER SHOW YOUR SUPPER INCOMPETENCE. 2020 WE GO SHOW NANA
PLSSSS S H U T THE F U C K UP. WHERE IS YOUR VICE PRESIDENT TALKING MOUTH???? DIDN'T HE SAY HE WAS THE ECONOMIC JESUS TO SAVE GHANA FROM NDC MANTRA??? NO MORE LECTURES HEIN!!! SHAM E SHAM E SHAM E SHAM E SHAM E SHAM E SHAM EEEEEEEE APUTORRRRRRRRRR
I respected this man bcos of his quietness. But am very much disappointed in his comments. Someone who broke the economy before leaving power put 1 dollar to 4.20ps before he left. You people promised to bring it down bcos 4.20 was very bad and mess up to the economy. Rty now how is 1 dollar to cedi? so is it mahama who is causing that? I never knew this man is like the other propaganda politicians. Disappointing.
LESS THAN TWO YEARS, YOU HAVE HEALED YOUR POVERTY BY PAYING GH¢ 12 MILLION WITH PRUDENTIAL . CLUELESS AND MEDIOCRE
You are soooo stoupid. Have you ever seen anyone who claims his economy is bad, yet he goes to borrow to solve his economic problem and the first thing he does is to organize PARTY? Who does that? I am sure it's been difficult fixing your wife because of mahama's economic legacy. Your dwarfish uncle or cousin didn't know all these when he was saying he has the best team and the money is available to solve the problems of Ghanaians? Where is barwuliar?
PLEASE, AND PLEASE, YOU CAME TO POWER OVER TWO YEARS AGO. SHORTLY AFTER YOU PEOPLE ASSUMED THE REIGNS OF GOVERNMENT IN 2017, THE ISSUE OF "DUM-SOR' SEEMED TO NORMALIZE AFTER ALL THE HARD WORKS OF JOHN MAHAMA. YET WHAT DID WE HEAR? "WE (NPP) HAVE SOLVED THE FOUR YEARS "DUM-SOR" ORCHESTRATED BY JOHN MAHAMA". YET AFTER MORE THAN TWO YEARS IN POWER YOU ARE STILL CLUELESS ABOUT THE ECONOMY. THIS WAS NOT WHAT YOU TOLD GHANAIANS. HAND OVER THE BATTON BACK TO JOHN MAHAMA. IF EVEN YOU ARE GIVEN A CENTURY TO RULE OR GOVERN THE EXCUSES WILL NOT STOP. HIGH LEVEL CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM, DESPOTISM AND ARROGANCE WILL KEEP YOU AWAY FROM CROSSING THE RUBBICON RIVER. YOU ARE FAI*LURES IN ALL ASPECTS OF GOVERNANCE. PLENTY TALKS DO NOT PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE.
Mr minister you are PATHETIC. Still on the Mahama mantra???? Sorry for you.
