The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, John Boadu says even though the Inter-Party Advisory Committee’ (IPAC) did not discuss the issue of a new voters’ register, they were informed of it.
He has also agreed that the Electoral Commission (EC) should not have indicated that the new voters’ register was discussed at the meeting when it was not.
“They ought to have singled out voters’ register,” he indicated during a panel discussion on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’.

Background
A release by the EC after an ‘Inter-Party Advisory Committee’ (IPAC) meeting indicated that it would compile a new voters’ register for the 2020 General Elections.
However, the NDC issued a statement denying contents of the statement saying the decision for a new voters' register was not discussed at the IPAC meeting and further demanded that the EC withdraw what it describes as a “deceptive communique”.

JOHN BOARDU IS EVASIVE. WE MUST CALL A SPADE A SPADE. NDC IS LYING BY CLAIMING NEW VOTERS REGISTER WAS NOT DISCUSSED. NOBODY STOPPED ANYBODY FROM DISCUSSING THE MATTER. FROM HANSARD OF IPAC MEETING NEW VOTERS REGISTER WAS MENTIONED BY EC, AS REVEALED BY KWAKU BARKO . AT LEAST, ONE PERSON ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT IT FOR EC TO CLARIFIED. IF NO OBJECTION WAS RAISED WHERE COMES THE CLAIM THAT IT WAS NOT DISCUSSED AT THE MEETING. DO WE NEED TO ARGUE ABOUT EVERY ITEM AT MEETING TO BECOME ACCEPTED WHEN THE MATTER IS OBVIOUS AND CLEAR. WHY WASTE TIME ON ISSUES WHICH REQUIRE NO DEBATE? TIME IS MONEY AND WE MUST LEARN TO CHERISH IT AT MEETINGS. SHAME TO ELVIS AFRIYIE ANKRAH FOR THE MISINFORMATION TO HIS PARTY AND GHANAIANS.
MR BOADU THANKS FOR SETTLING THE MUDDY WATERS, HONEST MEN ARE SCARCE TO COME BY BUT YOU HAVE PROVEN BEYOND EVERY DOUBTS. EC PLEASE AND PLEASE DO NOT CAUSE ANY UNNECESSARY TENSIONS IN GHANA BEFORE 2020 ELECTIONS. ENGAGE ALL STAKEHOLDERS,IDENTIFY ANDCOMMUNICATE EVERY FLAWS IN THE CURRENT REGISTER AND LEAVE IT FOR THE PARTIES TO DECISION THE WAY FORWARD MAA JEAN.
