The Minority in Parliament has again urged government to release the Justice Emile Short Commission report on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
The Minority in Parliament at a press conference on Wednesday called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately publish the report of the Emile Short Commission.
According to them, the findings and recommendations of the Emile Short Commission report would enable Ghanaians to chart a path towards ending politically related violence.
Mr James Agalga, the Ranking Member on Parliament's Defence and Interior Committee, and Member of Parliament for Builsa North Constituency, speaking at the press conference said "any attempt by the Executive to stampede Parliament into enacting legislation on political vigilantism without recourse to the Emile Short Commission’s Report could only result in the enactment of half-baked legislation not capable of dealing sufficiently with the problem."
Reiterating the minority's demand in an interview on Citi Eyewitness news, Thursday, Haruna Iddrisu said it is within their right to request for the report.
“I am surprised that the media; you are demanding accountability . . . We have every right that we want to know what exactly happened . . . It is in the interest of good governance," he said.
"What is compelling is that the vigilantism bill presented to Parliament in its explanatory memorandum makes reference to the Ayawaso West violence commission report and findings."
"This findings and recommendations have not been made public to Ghanaians. How does it inform legislation? Why did he form the Commission," he questioned and added that if the President believes in accountability, he will make the report public.

What about the investigation on ministers who received double salaries? Why did the CID invited them if there would be no prosecution? Haruna Iddrisu, you need to ask that questions too?
It appears Ghana Government has wasted resources training people and also paying some law makers who do not know the contents of the Ghana Constitution. The Constitution has stated clearly the time frame for the release of white paper on reports of Commissions. Then a trained lawyer who should know better makes a demand contrary to what the Constitution says. For making such a demand you are 'MUCKERY' of your training and your position as a Leader in Parliament
Honrable leader ,Why, didn't you ask your party members to participate when you knew you were going to demand for the report.
YES_YES IT'S TRUE NDC MEMBERS ARE EVILS.
Was it not these same NDC minority and their party members who rubbished the commission right at the beginning? Didn't they describe it as "a cover-up, whitewash, etc"? so why have they made a U-turn and demanding the report? The did a similar thing by rejecting the Ghana card and asked their members not to register. Then finally made the usual U-turn and started making si11y demands from the authority. The NDC is surely evil.
Short commission was not set up because of the ndc but the good people of Ayawaso who ndc sent their hoodlums to hurt but met their meters! after all it is only the prerogative of the president to release it so if he hasn't done so but has more pressing needs does he has to listen to f000*00ls because they are demanding? The president is a workaholic who doesn't want to leave any stone unturned and ndc cry will mot change nothing, they were given 8 years and all they could do was their president went to work at 11:30 am and closed at 4:pm for shots and merry making regardless of what was happening to Ghanaians but rather said "yentie obiaa " when his appointees were busy creating ***barred word*** and sharing he was relaxing at the Peduase lodge with Mzbel and their son and taking photos and sharing on social media! Haruna Iddrisu ain't you ashamed and what difference will the report make? you people are fo00*00ls! Give us a break on your st*upidity ! Ghanaians don't want any report that doesn't indict those sent from Tamale azorka boys but gives them power to do more! if ndc think it will go on their favour then they must relax ,we will never accept anything more than indictment of the azorka boys and the Hawks who came all the way from one region to the other to cause chaos which was foiled according to Ofosu Ampofo's tape!
HARUNA you are a G O A T. Haruna you are a C O W. I am insulting you and l will continue insult you because you received double pay and you are specking to us. A N I M A L like you. fooooooool8
Ask John Ford Mahama why he did not released the Dzamefe commission report on the 2014 Brazil world cup..... NDC double salary hypocrites.....
SIX MONTH TO ISSUE WHITE PAPER. NO NEED TO MAKE THE REPORT PUBLIC FOR SECURITY REASONS. AFTER ALL THE REPORT IS ALREADY PUBLIC. WE HAVE ALL SEEN WHAT HAPPENED. TAGS SENT FROM TAMALE AND ELSEWHERE.THE PRIOR INFORMATION RECEIVED AT NATIONAL SECURITY AND THEIR REACTION. INDISCIPLINE OF SAM GEORGE. THE OVERREACTION OF SOME OPERATIVES OF NATIONAL SECURITY. THE EVIL OF VIGILANTISM. THE MANIPULATION OF POLITICIANS. WHAT ELSE AGAIN MAHAMA IDRISU WANTS TO KNOW. WAS HE SLEEPING DURING THE SESSION? HE CAN STILL GET IT FROM ***barred word***. THE REPORT IS EYEOPENER FOR ALL. WE DONT NEED ANY ADDITIONAL INTERPRETATION OF NOISY POLITICIANS BUT TO ACT ON THEM. ONE MOST IMPORTANT ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COMMISSION HAS RESULTED WITH THE BILL ON VIGILANTISM. UNLIKE PREVIOUS COMMISIONS WHICH DID NOT YIELD ANY FRUIT THIS TIME EMILE SHORT COMMISSION HAS YIELDED A SUBSTANTIVE RESULT, BAN ON VIGILANTISM. WE DONT NEED THE NOISE OF THE CHATARLANT POLITICIAN. THEY TALK AND TALK WITH NO ACTION. WE NEED THE ACTION POLITICIANS WHO WALK THE TALK AS THE PRESIDENT HAS DONE.
For heaven sake the President has six months to present report why this stampede
