Member of Parliament for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak has reported businessman Hamza Abdul Aziz to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for allegedly pumping money into the campaign of his main contender and the eventual winner of last Saturday’s primaries, Dr. Hamza Adams a lecturer at the University of Development Studies.
According to him, he has no problem with his contender whom he has congratulated personally and assured him of his support come 2020.
However, available information to him indicates that the said sponsor of his contender’s campaign has been involved in some money laundering issues.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' program, he explained that an amount of GHc 500,000 was shared to delegates on behalf of his main rival Dr. Hamza Adams by the said businessman.
"I have documents to prove such and I have officially written to the BNI to commence investigations into the activities of the businessman who sponsored the campaign of his rival," he said.
He said there are businessmen in this country who support the activities and campaign of party candidates but he believes that no one will spend such an amount of money on primaries alone.
"I genuinely want the BNI to investigate him to at least make sure that taxes were declared on the money he shared."
"Nonetheless, I support the win of my rival and I have promised my unflinching support for him as we fight to safeguard the seat in 2020," he added.
Member of Parliament (MP) Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak after just a term will no longer be in parliament after being defeated at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries held over the weekend.
The loudmouth lawmaker was giving the spank of his life by a Lecturer with the University for Development Studies (UDS), Dr. Hamza Adam who polled 401 as against the incumbent’s 273 and 81 votes for the third candidate, Baba Abdulai.
Ras Mubarak who was optimistic of carrying the day has been left disappointed together with his supporters after results declared signaled his defeat.

Mahama it is reported is lambasting gov't for abandoning E-block projects. What Ghanaians are asking is, can Mahama tell Ghanaians how much of the money borrowed for the E-Blocks the whole 200 E-Blocks, was left behind for it's completion after Ghanaians sacked him in 2016. This is an article on Ghanaweb.
First time with Peace FM. For two days continuous; yesterday morning (26/8/19)and today's morning news at 6, there was no mention of Akufo Addo's name by both newscasters, perhaps because bootlickers like Kwame Amoo and Nana Yaa Konadu. I pray that you still get your stipends from your pay masters because Peacefmonline has managed to put two uselessss audios about their nightmare president Mahama on this partisan website. No wonder peacefmonline viewership has reduced drastically of late and even those visiting this sight hardly comment on the one-sided stories posted on the site.
You may go back and do your dredlocks again.
When you spend your time in parliament riding bicycles and doing s1lly propaganda, others were working on the ground. Did Ras Mubarak use stones for his campaign or he also used money? He should go back to Ablekuma North and contest as independent candidate. BAD LOSER!
Please get over this mediocrity, this little mindedness. Who said competent, intelligent, wise, patriotic citizens should not make "good" money and spend it as they want? The so-called investigation should start from Ras Mubarak; how he managed to win power almost 4 years ago. Then what he did (how he got the money he spent in the current year with high hopes of winning). After these, the so-called sponsor can be investigated. Get over this little Ghana man thinking, boss
Sorry Ras, Just move on, you have been defeated. Do not try to find faults. Support the campaign, when your party comes to power, you will be rewarded. You fought a good fight but everyone is counting your short falls in the constituency.
In as much I am an ndc man and will not like our party to be laughed at, I want the investigation done based on these reasons. That is if it is true the said businessman was the sponsor. 1. We need to be careful where we accept money from else sooner we will have drug barrons ruling our country using politicians (politricksters) as puppets. The barrons and corrupt people will be ruling us behind the scenes. 2. It is hard time we move away from monicracy else competent people with no money will not be in politics and at the end of the day, bad laws will be made, implemented by bad leaders and we citizens will be the suffering ones. Guys 4 years is far too long for us to bet (chacha) with our lifes in the hands on incompetent people.
Abi you are gave oh You gave kelewele and gave TV
Hahaha investigate who?then let's first start with john mahatma and find out where he gets his money and see whether he pays taxes on them.concert party man
