"There was a time it seemed Ghana had a shadow President," says Kweku Baako Jnr after studying various addresses given by the current President and a former President.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country has been updating Ghanaians in a live broadcast; often on weekends.
In all, the President has addressed the nation on eight different occasions, even though some believe he (President) is using the Coronavirus scourge as a ruse to campaign for re-election.
Former President John Mahama, perhaps not wanting to be overshadowed, has also taken advantage of COVID-19, to address Ghanaians on similar issues.
As if that is not enough, Mr Mahama oftentimes uses his address to criticize the President's actions and purport to give government suggestions.
This scenario, the Seasoned Journalist believed, created an 'ugly type' of politicization, which made him "uncomfortable".
He said he had a problem with the NDC when they launched their COVID-19 team.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' he added: "there was a time and I’m choosing my words carefully; it seemed we had a shadow President and a parallel administration. It was looking like that and I didn’t feel comfortable with it . . . those things were all politicization; ugly type".

NDC cannot just have it light dealing with an experienced and a seasoned politician like our President Nana Akufo-Addo. The President was resolved to mobilize the local experts at his disposal to excel in the fight against the novel corona pandemic. In many of the Presidents' speeches, he had amply demonstrated the can-do spirit of Ghanaians both as patriots and experts and it's being acknowledged remarkably, in the fight against the novel convid-19 in the world, as Ghanaian approach. Thus, Ghana had recorded a very low death rate relative to the number of positive cases, massive testing, treatment, and recovery. The predictions of massive deaths in Africa seem to be very inaccurate, then the Ghanian example and its success is a case in point that disproves that. This clearly, shows how our President had provided the requisite solid leadership in the fight against the pandemic. And if at the end of the day it plays-out well for him in the campaign for his reelection so be it, then, it didn't just fall from heaven, he labored hard for it. It is not correct, therefore, for the Opposition leader Mahama to try hard, desperately, to deploy falsehood to counteract the solid competence of the President. It is not justified to try to discredit the President for any political gain.
Where was Mr. Baako during Mahama's time. After the ruling government gave the state of the nation address, Bawumiah usually comes out with his own true state of the nation. You didn't say then that we have a shadow vice abi?
Kwaku, who started " The Real State of the Economy"... hypocrisy will kill you and the NPP. Today, they have got the nerve to say someone is operating a parallel Government. Wonders shall never end indeed.
so the SP is using covid -19 as an excuse to sleep on his job abi? how far with the Airbus case?
This guy Kwaku Baako - alias know all" never ceases to amaze me. Today he is claiming Mahama is running a shadow presidency and a parallel admin. Selective amnesia". Go thru the archives and list the kind of opposition Nana Addo run for the 8 years he was opposition leader. Baako has forgotten it got to a point where Nana in opposition was addressed by his party members and sympathisers as "His Excellency" and took hold of the pillars of powers". Kwaku Baako has now become an affront, nuisance, ugliest form of human expression and walking contradiction.
Kwaku Baako, this is real bias. Haven't you seen in other democracies the leader and key members of opposition giving speeches to offer policy options and guidance on similar scenarios. Check history, Check the US the leading democracy in the world, India and so on. Your unfettered support is blinding you from being realistic. Mahama like any other has a right to make statements more so as the leader of the largest opposition party. Go back to history to check on the statements including demonstrations when NPP was in power including the famous lectures of Bawu Bawu the current vice President.
Another fantes foo000l, government has refused to continuous the Komenda sugar factory to help the poor sugar cane farmers in the K.E.E.A because of that they have turned their sugar cane farm into the manufacturing of alcohol, I was thinking that somebody like Kweku Baaku will tell the Sleeping Aku and his talkative VP to open the factory but that is not the case but he talks like KG pupils. Where is Kweku Baaku When talkative VP and his sleeping Aku were giving lectures in 2014 up to 2016, this fantes ***barred word*** kept quit.
When Dimsor was rearing its head under Mahama ,NPP AND BAWUMIA STOPPED HIS INFAMOUSE LECTURES,, WHEN EBOLA WAS IN THE SUB REGIME BAWULIAR NEVERB ORGANISEDS ANY LECTURES.EVEN GIVEN CORRECT DATA OF THE HEALTH OF ECONOMY, YOUR DELIBERATELY FALSIFYING DATA. in my household I have a way of calculating our debt to income ratio. I say to my wife and children our balance book is clean and they believed me. Suddenly there was some unforeseen circumstances and I had to go to my banker(IMF) for loan, my bank say to qualify, you should include all your expenditure on the loan application including those you personally foot and not disclose to members of your house because in our determination we include everything from the household income/spending. By including my side chick expenditure, now my house members know our books were not as cleaned and balanced as I claimed. Question: was I lying to my household about the true financial standing of the house or not? No big big grammar, break it down simply not IMF/BOG English please
Ahbah, how many cases the supreme court haven't adjudicated during pandemic. Even the lower courts are running now. Is the special prosecutor sleeping? How has COVID 19 stop him from bringing mahama and npp's kwesi bekoe to book if they have done anything wrong. Some Ghanaians can be so ediot.
Kweku everyone knows you are right no matter how many paid NDC contributors here attack you. We are the majority(in reflected in last election) and we know you are very very correct with your analysis of JM's hypocrisy. How could you have a camera snatcher as your top advisor and make informed choices???
