Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Mr. George Loh, says he enjoyed the publicity he had after participating in the Electoral Commission's pilot voter registration exercise on Tuesday.
Famous person
In an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, George Loh tagged himself as the “most famous” person in Ghana on June 2, 2020.
“The trending was massive yesterday. It was scary, I never thought of trending. I am sure music and movie celebrities will be so jealous of me yesterday,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
George Loh on why he participated in EC's pilot voter registration
There have been concerns that even though the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was opposed to the new register, it was preparing its members to get ready to register.
Social media went ‘gaga’ when Mr. Loh's ID card popped up after participation in the pilot exercise – many argued that it was a move which, was not in consonance with the position of the NDC.
But on NEAT FM on Wednesday, the NDC activist maintained that his participation in the exercise does not run contrary to the party's stance.
Mr. Loh, who is currently the Volta Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC, disagreed with the suggestion that his action was hypocritical to the party's position.

GEORGE LORH IS JUST BEING PRAGMATIC ND SINCERE TO HIS PEOPLE. DURING THE NIA REGISTRATION NDC DECIDED TO BOYCOTT IT. IT CAME TO PASSED THAT ALL THE LEADERS FROM MAHAMA TO JJ AND THEIR MPs REGISTERED. THEY NEVER EXPLAINED TO THEIR SUPPORTERS WHY THEY DID THAT. SADLY. THEY WERE NOT SINCERE ENOUGH TO TELL ANYONE WHY THEY CHANGED THEIR POSITION. MANY OF THEIR SUPPORTER WERE LEFT IN CONFUSION. THOSE WHO FAILED TO USE THEIR MINDDD REALIZED LATER THAT THEY HAD BEEN FOOOOOOLED. IT CAN ALSO BE SAID OF GEORGE ALORH'S ACTION THAT HE WAS HYPOCRITE AND THAT NDC LEADERS SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. THEY TELL THE PEOPLE ONE THING AND THEY DO ANOTHER. ALORH WHO IS THE VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE PARTY IN THE VOLTA REGION REGISTERED TO TELL HIS PEOPLE THAT THEY SHOULD GO AND REGISTERED. NOBODY SHOULD STAY HOME. I HOPE ABRONYE AND WUNTUMI WOULD NOT SPEND ALL THEIR TIME AT THE RADIO STATIONS BUT TO GO AND INSPIRE THEIR PEOPLE TO REGISTER AS ALORH IS DOING TO ENCOURAGE HIS PEOPLE IN THE VOLTA REGION. AS WE MUST WORK HARD TO STOP FOREIGNERS TO REGISTER, WE SHOULD INSPIRE ALL TRUE GHANAIANS TO GET REGISTERED. THE NOISEES OF BERNARD MONAH, SAMMY GYAMFI, SAMMY BROGYA, SAM P YALLEY, BOAKYE GYAN AND MANY OTHERS IN NDC ARE ALL INTENDED TO CREATE FEAR AND DISCOURAGE PEOPLE TO REGISTER AT THOSE PLACES. NDC WILL MAKE NOISEE AND THREATEN BUT THEY WILL REGISTER AND THEY WILL ACCEPT THE RESULT WHEN THEY LOSE. IT IS THE RULE OF THE GAME, YET THEY WILL FIRST PLAY TAKASHIE. THEY WILL BE IN A COMFORTABLE LEAD BEFORE THEY ADMIT DEFEAT. THAT IS THEIR NATURE.
