Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was charitable to the ruling party when it scored the latter "F" in terms of unfulfilled campaign promises.
According to him, the actual score in the analysis of the fulfilled campaign promises of the ruling NPP Government stands at 13.6% but the opposition party decided to round the figure up to 14%.
“We observed that only 86 promises have been delivered out of the 631 and if you do the arithmetic and divide the 86 by the 631, what you will get is 13.6% and so we have been generous to gift them 14%; we added 0.4% to it by rounding the figure up,” he indicated.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the former Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary insisted that the NPP made 631 promises to Ghanaians and not 388 as earlier bandied about by the Vice-President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia.
He dared the ruling the NPP Government to come up with contrary view regarding this assertion.
“We have supported our claim of the 631 promises made by the Akufo-Addo government to Ghanaians with page numbers from their manifesto where people can easily access them and do their own analysis. We expect the NPP to tell us that we lied about any of the promises we have highlighted in our press conference from their manifesto,” he dared.
The Vice-President, in February this year, claimed the government had posted incredible results against the backdrop of the “mess” it inherited from the erstwhile NDC administration on January 7, 2017.
According to him, the current administration had delivered on 78 per cent of the 388 promises it made during the 2016 electioneering.
He was speaking on the first day of a two-day Town Hall Meeting and Results Fair in Kumasi under the theme: "Demonstrating fulfilment of our promises".
The South Tongu NDC MP stressed that the opposition party painstakingly analyzed the figures put out by government as no organization had done so.
He accused the ruling party of deliberately omitting several of their campaign promises in their manifesto in order to shoot-up their delivery and create the impression that they have delivered.
“So we sat down with a fine comb to comb through the entire manifesto and we have put out the number of promises as many as 235 promises which the Vice President did not mention; you left them out with the assumption that Ghanaians will forget but we will remind Ghanaians about them...
“The message that we sent clearly with the press conference is that the 2020 general election campaign will be a campaign of ideas and issues and not a campaign of insults and fabricated issues against opponents”, he mentioned.

Mr. MP! but you guys once said the government has done nothing to Ghanaians? you guys even went further t say he cannot pin point a single project or thing he has done for Ghanaians. But now you are given him 14%. See your face like a pig that has farted.
It is suicidal for a competitor to praise an opponent so what the NDC did was normal because it could have mounted in throwing in the towel. However they should be mindful of the continued propaganda tactics which the eye opener Ghanaian is not ready to buy this time. They must focus on what they can do when voted to take over than wasting their time telling the populace what they know already. The failure of the ruling administration in terms of fulfillment of their campaign promises must not be the burden of the NDC, rather they must offer the alternatives.
Either they don't read or they are just poor at comprehension. You pick visions and promises and put them to together and present. Isn't mischievous?
From Hilarious Goodluck Jonathan Wife. If NPP score 13.6% as a lecturer let repeat them to re sit the fail subjects. Because if you fail at school you are ......
Ghanaians are tired of you people. Change is coming.
It is really very disappointing and indeed an eyesore to see these young guys in the NDC displaying ignorance in basic political analysis. It is in fact instructive to note that, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa one of those young guys, had been a Minister of state before and is supposed to have acquired a certain level of astute in leadership in terms of political vision. Thus, how to plan, assess its flagships projects and political agenda to improve the lives of the people. Clearly, infrastructure developments should not be listed and assessed in isolation, counting items against items, so to speak. Thus, they must be related to One district one factory for example otherwise you miss the impacts, its attributions, and the values you seek to achieve for the welfare of your people. The flagship, planting for food, railway development are all ongoing yet you can book some initial positive results. Is that the 14% achievement? Above all, for instance, the COVID-19 pandemic was not foreseen in the manifesto, hence it is worthwhile to note how remarkably the fight against it, so far, had been competently led. Indeed, counting the numbers-analysis of the honorable MP. Okudzeto Ablakwa underrates the intelligence of the good people of Ghana. Finally, I would wholeheartedly advise NDC to nurture her young politicians their intellects and leadership pursuits. The propaganda, the babies with sharp teeth type of politicking to curry favor for political appointments will collapse the party.
Ojato eeeeeeeeee thanks for your grades. But still THE BATTLE IS THE LORDS.
This NDC people are now in a comedy mode. Instead of you to use all that time to prepare your own manifesto you are marking the government. The electorates will be the final judge of the government's performance. Infantile c0rrupt NDC leadership.
A baby with sharp teeth so you can’t see your incompetency in your assessment? Truly if it’s not politics and you have to assess this government in your University assessment task I you sure you will pass??? Well no matter what the situation we are not going to fly on Airbus with an incompetent pilot through dumso to IMF anymore when babies with sharp teeth are on board and land us on Woyomey’s backyard. I know there could be Ford Expedition to take us by land but we will rather prefer bus branding driven by Ativor in the middle of berko power bribery crisis which indicates government official 1 so I decree like the Jews said never again to ndc. NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU
