The New Patriotic Party Volta Regional Organizer says his party over the years has contributed vastly to the development of Volta Region despite the region been docketed as the ‘headquarters' of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
NPP does not hate Ewes
Korsi Bodga who was speaking on NEAT FM’s political talk show ‘Torch Light’ also rubbished claims that the NPP hates Voltarians.
“It’s never true that the NPP hate ewes. NPP has done more in building the volta region in terms of infrastructure than the NDC. Why should we [NPP] play tribe politics? The NDC rather fuels tribal politics in the region for sympathy votes,” he told host Mac Jerry Osei Agyeman.
Targeting 35% popular votes in Volta region
Korsi Bodga was also optimistic about his party pulling a surprise in the upcoming presidential election.
“So far so good, the NPP is doing very well in the Volta region than before. Things are going on well for the NPP and this will reflect in the next election. We are targeting 35% of the popular votes in the region,” he noted.
NDC behind Western Togoland move
According to Korsi Bodga, confusion about some group in the Volta region wanting their separation is “unfortunate”.
He accused the NDC of masterminding the move to create chaos in the region ahead of the December 7 polls.
