Senior Political Science Lecturer at University of Ghana, Dr. Asah Asante has admonished Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be used as puppets by political parties during the general elections.
Dr. Asah Asante advised the citizenry to resist the temptation to cause violence during the elections.
Speaking on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', he reminded Ghanaians of the power they have over politicians saying ''we the voters have the power. The parties don't have power''.
He further called on the electorates to vote out any candidate who makes seditious commments.
"Let us exercise our authority effectively by voting against any person who wants to stir riot or make utterances to incite people to cause violence."
On the part of the candidates, Dr. Asah Asante urged the losers to accept their defeat in good faith or resort to the law court for resolution.
"You have to accept defeat and abide by the rules of the game," he stated.
