Peacefmonline.com can authoritatively confirm that one of the representatives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Electoral Commission’s (EC) ‘strong room’ during election 2020, Mr Robert Mettle-Nunoo, has filed his witness statement in support of the petition filed by Former President John Dramani Mahama challenging the declaration of President Akufo-Addo as winner of the presidential election.
Peacefmonline can also confirm that Rojo Mettle-Nunoo's witness statement, is a 9 page, 32 paragraph document.
He filed the witness statement at 3pm on Thursday (February 4, 2021).
Rojo Mettle-Nunoo catalogued a number of incidents prior to and after the declaration of the Presidential Election results by the Returning Officer and 1st Respondent, Jean Mensah, which he insists cannot be "swept under the carpet" since it "undermines the credibility of the polls and cast grave doubts on the integrity of those assigned responsibilities for a free, fair and transparent conduct of elections."
Attached is a copy of his witness statement.
and is expected to be cross-examined by lawyers for the two respondents, the Electoral Commission (EC) and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo) when the Supreme Court resumes hearing of the petition Friday, February 5, 2021.
He is the third witness to be called upon by lawyers for Mr Mahama, who was the NDC Presidential Candidate in election 2020.

NDC leadership failed their supporters and are not being candid about it. NDc supporters should channel their anger at their leaders and not at the EC. Look at all these Kweku Ananse being told in court. Reading Mettle Nunoos statement, you can see how Tsatsu and his legal team are struggling so hard to close the lapses from Asiedu Nketiah and Kpesah Whyte's loose and hollow witness evdience. The party should kick out all this communist tatcicians and vote in strategic thinkers. The chooboi chooboi days of politics is over.
It is unfortunate that after hearings of proceedings of the court, 2 witnesses have called, Mettle-nunoo is now presenting his witness statement. I am really not comfortable with this, but well the judges are in control so let's see what happens.
How can a respectable, educated and astute man like you with all these years of experience being in the strong room for NDC in all elections be misled by EC to sign a document you have not verified. Your NDC party even before the elections parroted and trumpeted in all media channels that they do not trust the Jean Mensah led EC so how come you allowed yourself to be misled? were you not trained enough to know your rights and responsibilities in the strong room of the EC? To be candid, this is a shame by all standards, and to say the least very appalling of a former Deputy minister of State. I mean how on Earth can "go and consult your candidate" mean go and meet him physically and talk about it. Assuming that she did say that, how can you sheepishly follow this suggestion without a shrewd of evidence other than by mouth. You simply staged a walkout using this suggestion as an excuse because you already new the outcome of the elections. Justice Appau is right, Mr. Rojo and Kpessa-Whyte failed their candidate by both of them leaving the strong room. In my view their walkout was sanctioned from above and the Petitioner himself knew. Counsel Tsatsu should stop playing to the gallery, we are tired of the jargons and grammar.
Can you guys not put together a document without any errors? This is an important matter. For a case like this, there should be no reason for errors, not alone the facts at stake, and working with 9 lawyers. Anything less than perfection, is unacceptable.
I hope he has a concrete evidence and not the same old story of you told me and I didn't tell you as envisaged in the other witness statement
