Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has described as disappointing the nomination of Kissi Agyebeng to the Office of Special Prosecutor following Martin Amidu’s resignation. According to him, the nomination goes to prove that the President Akufo-Addo is unwilling to fight corruption. “You don’t want people who shine their eyes on malfeasance, misappropriation, embezzlement and corruption. So it a disappointing appointment but let’s see what he is able to do,” he told JoyNews.
Legal practitioner, Kissi Agyebeng according to a letter from the Attorney General to the President has been earmarked to replace former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu. Reiterating his disapproval of Mr Agyebeng’s nomination, the Tamale South MP opined the experience and expertise of Mr Agyebeng are unparalleled to that of Martin Amidu, hence making him unfit for the job of Special Prosecutor.
“Credentials compared to who? Compared to Martin Amidu, he is a non-starter. Compared to Martin Amidu in terms of stature, experience, integrity and reputation, he just doesn’t come close.
“After Martin Amidu, I mean he is a person with unquestionable integrity and his integrity, you will not find many that can stand up to the moral standard of Martin Amidu. He has been Attorney General,” he said.
For that reason, he indicated that “you need men of wits and will to fight corruption.”
Mr Iddrisu also used the platform to register his displeasure on how President Akufo-Addo has tackled the issue of corruption.
He noted that due to the failure of the government to lend a hand to Martin Amidu in its corruption fight, it lost its best candidate for the job.
“Martin Amidu suited perfectly into it but because he could not get the cooperation and support of the president, he had to bow out. Look at how they shamelessly got the Auditor General out of office in one breath…I just think Nana Addo Dankwa has lost the fight against corruption.
“Corruption is real in Ghanaian public life. It has permeated the moral fact break of our public service. Sometimes we narrow it to political office holders, politicians and ministers but you need to open your eyes for it to be more inclusive,” he added.

Credentials compared to your ***barred word*** and your display of arrogance in parliament as if minority leader in ghana parliament is next to the stool of Ashanti kingdom, the golden stool. You were given opportunity to become a minister at a time when you couldn't even buy tooth brush and paste for your own oral hygiene and now you can open that ***barred word*** mouth to try and compare one's appointment to something. ***barred word***.
This is the reason why young Sammy Gyamfi took Hurana into the gutters . Same NDC so call i know all members sent Martin Amidu to court becuase of his age and Same characters are preaching young age .Hurana your NDC party gurus said that you took double salary hence you do not deserve Minority leader. NDC and Hurana do not control Ghana appointment therefore they should shout up . Sam George has left his wife at home and tried to destroy someone respect wife becuase he thinks being an MP permit you to say any rotten stuff.. Behavior of some NDC MPs will prolong their stay opposition
Martin Amidu started from somewhere and made a name for himself why not give this young and energetic smart guy a chance to prove his worth? The so-called experienced people are in some way have "BUT" even Martin Amidu. Let's give this man a chance.
How comes these humble guys have become soo arrogant. If a 42 years old guy with over 18 years working experience is not qualified enough to be a SP then I think Haruna and Inusah are loosing in logic and critical analysis now. Without any serious working experience Haruna became a cabinet member and I think he probably performed well. Let stop the pettiness please.
You said this? Really ? How old were you when u became minister ? Ghana is becoming joke country!
Haruna Iddrisu really said this? He was a youthful student leader. There were elderly universities professors at the helm of affairs but he was given the support why is he suddenly anti youth. He did same to put spokes in Godfred Dame’s appointment. Is Haruna Iddrissu now saying the youth are non performers or he now has some hatred for same. So what did Amidu achieve as SP? No wonder we are where we are
The Martins' experiences, not only in his capacity as SP, but, as Attorney General have shown us that it is not always making the noises and big eyes which extol the competence and one's determination to accomplishment of tasks before him. Given Martin's public posture, and what he seeks to represent as public vigilante, gave more to be desired in his capacity as Special Prosecutor. Unfortunately, he did not in any way live up to the standard he set for himself, and as per his public demeanor. Credentials, entail also one's ability to lead and work with different characters and mindsets. A vigilante doesn't give up when he doesn't have his way, let alone by avenging a crime. However, a vigilant might honorably give up when he had failed to live up to the expectations he had set for his admirers. And that could be he did not have the competence he demeaned himself to possess or was not up to the task. The new SP is young, and he is not coming from the mainstream political arena. Hence, not over stressed by any self-acclaimed vigilantism.
The envy and bu--ff0nery displayed by some NDC MP's of Northern extraction notably Plagiar1st and double salary taking haruna iddrisu and the m0n-k£y looking innusah fusseini ,a d1scred1ted man who was caught after hiding a secret camera in the office of his successor. Agyabeng, iddrisu and fusseini are all lawyers however, can the two be said to be of the same pedigree in terms of knowledge, achievement, competence and integrity? Name the leading cases both Haruna and Inusah have been involved in? Long may these two and their ilk suffer from their infer1or1ty complex. At least for all that we've read about Agyabeng he did not plagiarise his academic work. Amidu is alleged to have attempted to physically assault the late president Mills, the same man who appointed him. You glorify ind1scipline abi?
