Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi, has questioned the government about the impact the proposed E-Pharmacy will have on the ordinary Ghanaian.
This comes on the back of the announcement made by Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, about the possible introduction of E-Pharmacy which will make Ghana the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to implement the innovation.
Dr. Bawumia said that the E-Pharmacy will ensure pharmacies in the country are digitized on a platform to enable consumers to gain access to purchase medicines.
“To address the challenge of patients or person facing difficulties when trying to find medicines in pharmacies, I challenged the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana to digitize the operations of pharmacies in Ghana. Following this and working with my office, the Pharmacy Council in collaboration with the private sector has completed work on a digital platform; E-Pharmacy for all pharmacies in Ghana and a pilot of 45 pharmacies is currently ongoing,” he said.
Reacting to this, Sammy Gyamfi has questioned the vice president on how it can help improve the livelihood “of the many Ghanaians who are suffering”.
He added that the solutions to Ghana’s numerous economic problems do not lie in digitization lectures.
“Of what use is E-Pharmacy to the ordinary Ghanaian who is reeling under excruciating economic hardships as a result of the introduction of excessive taxes and steep increases in fuel prices by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government?
“Of what use is “E-this and E-that” to the ordinary Ghanaian who is jobless and cannot even afford to buy mobile data to access these digital platforms?" Sammy Gyamfi said in an opinion piece published by myjoyonline.com

I now understand why Ghana lags in development relative to its capability in terms of human and mineral resources. The NDC as a political party and its associates PNDC had always displayed incompetence. And, thus, had been given just too much undeserved time to rule Ghana to set Ghana aback. In the Airports of the advanced nations, they had installed equipment and software that can read and prove digital information. Therefore, if you possess e-cards or e-passports as a Ghanaian you are easy to pass those airports. Please, don't just underrate Ghanaians to assume that they don't appreciate how they can use technology to prepare neat fufu. I believe, I have said it in a very simple language for that e-iidiootts to understand. And I hope those e-iidiootts would come out of their Bawumia-inferiority complex to appreciat modernity and say big yes to digitilization.
These so-called educated people are simply ***barred word***, jokers and ill informed. No wonder they can even defend the unsubstantiated ballot stuff.I wonder why some people think Sammy Gyamfi is smart. Is it because he is a qualified lawyer? Any smart communication director will never lead his or her party to boycott the celebrated Kwami Sefa Kayi Kokrookoo if he or she is not convinced that Kwesi Pratt will be joining them. Now Massa Kwame Pratt, Nana Ofori Grand Papa are there to criticise the government but not able to advance the cause of the Ndc. The Drs and the profs are on the show with their independent views. Kokrookoo has maintained his listeners and the only party benefiting is the ruling npp. How smart is this overhyped young politician.
Eiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, NDC communication director, think the E-PHARMACY is of no use to the ordinary Ghanaian . Of what use is “E-this and E-that” to the ordinary Ghanaian. No problem, don't worry wai, those who have use for the plateform will use wai. gymiiiiiiiiiii
You can't get it because by nature you are not supposed to understand!
All followers and voters of NDC should quickly make a u-turn and join the NPP government to develop Ghana. If NDC has these kind of leaders like Sammy Gyamfi, who cannot think outside the box and have no vision, then Ghana will collapse when given the power to govern. Ghanaians should open their eyes and brains wide.
Why is Sammy Gyamfi always afraid of change. Thanks t Dr. Bawumia, we can in a time to come order for our drugs online.
What a stoopeed and narrow-minded question!
