“There is no scintilla of truth in the allegation, and it should, thus, be disregarded entirely for its spuriousness and hopelessness,” the Majority caucus says in reaction to claims that it leaked details of Alban Bagbin's medical trip in Dubai.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin is in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to undergo a medical review. He is set to return to Ghana on December 14, 2021.
According to reports, the Majority's leaked document indicates the Speaker spent millions of Ghana cedis on his hospital bills and travels.
However, in a statement, the Majority Caucus said it "has no interest in such an irresponsible deed".
“Indeed, to protect the Speaker’s integrity, the Chair and the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, we find the said publications unfortunate and unwarranted, and we condemn them accordingly . . . however, if the persons behind the publications intend to set the Speaker and the Majority Caucus in the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana on a collision course, we would not hesitate to offer the appropriate response,” it noted.

I was thinking Ablakwa will talk about this as wasting public funds. Now everyone will know why Ablakwa want to lie about the president anytime he travels. Even though Ken did not use the state fund for his travel, they saw something wrong with it.
Theres is no minority in Ghana.. 137 seat each so who is the minority.. NPP and this government has no shame..sad for Ghana..
The Speaker says payment of medical review is part of his condition of service so it is not a big deal for someone to make that information public. Listen to me, he is a public figure. Ghanaians are entitled to know unless he thinks it is too much. My problem is not about the payment of medical Bill's but the Speaker being partisan and serving NDC instead of Ghanaians. The Speaker must be held to account too for his behaviour and deeds in directing Parliament. If he doesn't like the disclosure, he is free to resign his position. Emoluments of Private company directors are disclosured in the UK and other democracies. Vice chancellors in the UK Universities have their compensation packages disclosed too.
Oh what’s wrong with this? Is he more human than the president? Ablakwah discloses every trip the president makes. Ain’t some Ghanaians praising him? So what is wrong if the ordinary tax payer knows the speaker is gone to Dubai with his family and friends for medical check-up or whatever? Mtseeeeew!
