Former Methodist Bishop, Bishop Stephen Richard Bosomtwe Ayensu says former President John Dramani Mahama who is seeking another term in office has nothing to offer Ghanaians again.
He advised that the former NDC flagbearer should stay away from politics after losing the 2020 General elections.
According to him, Mr Mahama has been blessed with all political positions and that his retirement from politics will earn him a stateman’s position which “he is from now”.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie', the outspoken Bishop said Mr Mahama’s tenure in office as President was terrible.
Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu claims he cannot reminisce any good policy from the Mahama-led government then.
“I only remember him [John Mahama] as a dead goat,” He told host Akwasi Aboagye.
Adding that, “This is someone who wants to be President again so he can review the Free SHS policy. Are we serious as a nation.?”
Background of Mahama’s goat syndrome comment
President John Mahama had warned that he will not be shaken by the threat of strikes from labour unions as the country approached the 2016 Election.
"I have seen more demonstrations and strikes in my first two years. I don't think it can get worse. It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn't fear the knife because it is dead already.
"I have a dead goat syndrome," he said on March 11, 2015, when speaking to members of the Ghanaian community in Botswana.

@Sam Kudjo, may God forgive you for using the word ***barred word***. can you say same to your father?? You see how you the NDC folks can very intolerant, yet you turn around and accuse the NPP government of culture of silence in Ghana. All of you are speaking but you say there is a culture of silence. Which silence?? And you Sam Kudjo, try and be decorous in your political discourse and be tolerant of divergent views. Not everyone will speak for your party or your political leader.
What at all can a Mahama even achieve in only 4 years? Clearly, he and his brother are coming to loot for the last time. Ghanaians must be wise.
What are the records of Mahama when he was given the mandate as a president? If Ghanaians claim Nana Addo hasn’t done enough then why must they go for Mahama who did worst even without any global pandemic? He inherited a sound economy in 2012 but ended it in the hands of IMF with hash conditionalities on Ghanaians so where will he leave Ghana within his only 4 years at this time that the economy is not stronger than in 2012?
As long as ***barred word*** hand to mouth political Ghanaians don’t want to hear the truth, our country will always go backwards in the hands of ***barred word*** NDC People. Mmoa
If that is the logic, then he as a former bishop should see himself as such and stop seeing himself as though he is still leading the church. Amid the rot and the country's image being washed down the drain, you are investing your energy in trying to whitewash a former president when you need to speak truth to power. Cowards die many times before their real death. And that is who this former bishop is. If you are a man that has balls that can speak to a tolerating man like JDM in the manner you are doing, speak the same to Nana Addo and see what will happen to you. His bulldogs will come after you.
For some of us this ***barred word*** is the reason we will vote JM back. Please to the man who has assume the role of God that JM can not be president, if he can tell me what will happen to him in six months time, then I would believe his declaration.
Yes! Life is tough in Ghana but is Mahama presidency the solution for our teething problems considering his track record when he was given the chance to lead our dear land? I trust the majority of the people of Ghana to do a sober reflection and realise that it will be an unfortunate situation to vote for president Mahama to come back.
Well that’s why we’re where we’re. Ghanaians hate the truth and so we’re not free, what at all has this John got to offer Ghanaians again? Please just sit quietly and think deeply. Is it not this usual IMF politics that Mahama has? I believe this time if we MISTAKENLY vote him to power this John will change the constitution and be a life president because he doesn’t care what happens to the country all he wants is POWER. Folks let’s be wise and move this country forward for 66 years is overdue for development. The ***barred word*** has only 4 years in his pocket. The incompetent one? I decree like the Jews said never again!!!
The fact that no law stops men of God from commenting on political issues doesn't mean they should speak ***barred word***.
