The Office of the Special Prosecutor on Friday ( 3 June) declared Coffie, wanted for “forgery of official document.”
In an official notice, the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng said his office has secured “a warrant of arrest” for Coffie also for “corruption and corruption-related offences.”
Details about the charges were not given.
Although Coffie is a known NDC activist, he has been outspoken against the party’s 2020 presidential candidate John Mahama.
I am available, says Dela Coffie
Meanwhile, Coffie posted on Facebook moments after the announcement that he is available “right here in Ghana and will submit myself to any queries of law enforcement agencies as I have nothing to hide.”
“Dela Coffie is a law-abiding citizen and ready to fight any concocted allegations geared towards tarnishing my image in the estimation of right-thinking members of society,” he added.

Re: Notice of Wanted Person
My attention has been drawn to a warrant of arrest issued by Special Prosecutor against my person.
Preliminarily, I want to state that I am available right here in Ghana and will submit myself to any queries of law enforcement agencies as I have nothing to hide.
As regards context, my understanding is that the Special Prosecutor is linking me to a petitioner, who has lodged a petition before his office against former Minister Atta Akyea.
However, let me state that the recklessness with which the Special Prosecutor will jump to issue an arrest warrant without any recourse to me as rules of engagement injunct his office to do, will be subjected to appropriate judicial review.
My lawyers have taken the matter up and we will deal with the issues head-on.

Special prosecutor ?? So we have one ?? Dead on arrival. Typical of peace FM to remove ndc comments. The least said of this cathedral, the better. Service personnel, NABcO, school feeding, meteorological services, teachers, nurses, etc etc, this government owes them all after sooo much borrowed with nothing, absolutely nothing to show. We await 2024 patiently and this time, the army will break nothing. The massacre in techiman will not deter anyone. Ndc won the last election and will only need to keep it's eyes on the vigilantes in the army.
