Ghanaian singer, Kofi Kinaata, has replied veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar after the latter said Kofi Kinaata is a good lyricist but not a good songwriter.
In a media interview Mr Omar, while mentioning his top five Ghanaian songwriters, left out Kofi Kinaata because “he’s a good lyricist and not a songwriter.” Mr Omar’s list of songwriters included musicians Amandzeba Nat Brew, OJ, Okyeame Kwame, Reverend Yawson, Akwaboah and Ephraim Amu.
But, Kofi Kinaata, reacting to this said he sees nothing wrong with it. According to him, as long as people are entitled to their opinions, he accepts Mr Omar’s words in good faith.
He told Asempa FM that “it is his opinion and he knows too much. My fans call me the Fante rap god, and he also has his opinion. I don’t want to talk about it. Ronaldo has speed, dribbles and and all that but some say he’s not a footballer. That’s how I see it,” he said.

Let us mind our words. a single word can kill someone spirit. let us say positive things.
Can someone inform the editorial board that in English we don't say "reply Rex". We say "reply to Rex". It is a bit irritating having to read this annoying mistake all the time.
Kofi keep up the good work .Everybody knows you are good. And i like the response. Shows class and a good upbringing
kofi keep the good work you doing, I love your songs just as many Ghanaian like your songs, as you use to say, NOO LONG TALK BIAAA.
Very polite and appropriate response. People have their opinions and you cannot force them to change their opinions about you so leave them and move ahead.
I sometimes wonder why Rex thinks he's a music mogul or a legend in Ghana..He was not even in competition in his peak days in the likes of DL and Mr music man with Paapa Yankson and Gyedu Blay Ambolley. Your top hits were Abiba and Co.Boss you were no class in your league so ***barred word*** and the that gives you platform to talk trash are trash themselves. The young man Kinaata is doing a good job and needs encouragement from others to do a good music and keep written good songs for us so you don't get the likes of Abiba kind of songs.
