Studio 53 Extra co-host, Sika Osei isn’t enthused about Ghanaians not being very supportive of her career.
In the latest issue of Glitz Africa Magazine, she describes as a ‘shame’ the attempts not to recognize her for what she is worth.
“The issue of ‘she is Ghanaian but she works in Nigeria.’ It’s funny because when I am in Nigeria I am too Ghanaian but when I’m here I’m not Ghanaian enough. Every time they say something I’m like “yeah in Ghana it’s like this” and I’m defending Ghana. It’s a shame that my own people are not very supportive,” she says.
“Until that time when my Oscar nomination comes in then I will be very Ghanaian! (laughs). The funny thing is, until that day comes I am still Ghanaian regardless of the path that I have been through, regardless of the rejection that I have been through. I will proudly get on that stage and represent Ghana because that’s just who I am.”
Osei joined Studio 53 Extra two years ago. She is a former Phamous TV Host and has acted in movies including Shirley Frimpong- Manso’s Grey Dawn.
