President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kufour has indicated that the body’s decision to honour Ibrahim Mahama at this year’s Grand Ball is based on his contribution to the event since its inception.
Moments after Ibrahim Mahama, brother of President John Mahama was named among the people to be rewarded at the fourth edition of Grand Ball, some creative arts enthusiasts wondered what he had done for the industry to earn such a recognition.
But speaking on Peace FM’s Entertenment Review, Thursday, Obour as widely known said the contribution of Ibrahim Mahama to the event has been phenomenon.
“Ibrahim Mahama has been supportive to the Grand Ball since we started. Last year when we were auctioning Nana Ampadu’s guitar, he bought it for GHC 50,000,” he noted.
According to Obour, Ibrahim Mahama and three others will be given the Music Pillar Awards.
“It is given to three people but this year we chose four. We select from the private sector, public sector and stakeholders” he mentioned.
Other figures to be honoured are Edward Boateng, CEO of Global Media Alliance; Betty Mould-Iddrissu former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, and Kasapreko Company Ltd.
The MUSIGA Grand Ball is an annual event which brings together industry players, state officials and prominent people on a night networking amidst entertainment.
This year’s edition comes off at the Banquet Hall, State House on Friday, November 4.
Artistes lined up for the night includes Bob Pinodo, No Tribe, Becca, Wiyaala, Maa Amanua of Wulomei fame, J. K Adofo, Becca, and Abrantie Amakye Dede.

Kwabena Obour are you a ***barred word*** to honour the KING of all ***barred word*** of our TIME. Is MUSIGA now part of the CREATE,LOOT and SHARE Firm established by JOHN INCOM' MAHAMA gov't ? Obour is our stolen Tax payers money.
THE TRUTH IS MAHAMA IS A BARAWO AND HE IS CHOPPING GHANA MONEY BY THE MILLIONS. HIS BROTHER IBRAHIM IS CHOPPING AND SO IS A LOT OF HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. WOYOME MONEY IS MAHAMA AND NDC MONEY. THEY SHARED THAT MONEY LONG TIME AGO. THE AG BREW APPIAH OPPONG HERSELF CHOP SOME OF THE MONEY. THE ONLY SOLUTION NOW IS FOR GHANA PEOPLE TO KICK BARAWO BANZA MAHAMA AND HIS GANG OF NDC ARMED ROBBERS IN SUIT OUT.
Fake Bullsh*t !
Aye ka celebrating krono, awi and balawo Betty judgement debt wayome cash Idrisu
Did i hear u rite?Betty Mould Iddrisu? Ah Ghana whats wrong with u guys, Betty what?this is the woman in the center of all judgement debt and u are honoring such person? God save Ghana. No wonder!!!
You have hit the nail on it's head. Ghana has sunk low. For donating stolen 50,000, you get an award? Ghana is in trouble.
It is unfortunate when a society like ours "honors" people just because they have money. We are telling the youth that integrity does not matter, as long as one has plenty money to dish out. No wonder sakawa and fraud are rampant. If a man steals money and gives donations, it does not make that man worthy of honor. Badly done Musiga!
You can give him all what you want . . . everyone knows you are corrupted just as the mahamas anyway . . .
