Kumasi-based movie actors and actresses have attacked the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr.Johnson Aseidu Nketia over comments he made against them.
“Mr. Aseidu Nketiah does not know importance of sending a girl child to school hence, NDC condemnation of government’s free education policy”, spokesperson for Agya Koo, Mr. Atta Aboakye told mynewsgh.com
A team from Kumawood on the Independence Day staged play at the on the importance of the education of the girl child.
But the chief scribe of the opposition party, Mr. Aseidu Nketia described the “educative and hilarious” performance as “unnecessary, and waste of time”.
According to him, most of the foreign dignitaries present did not speak and understand the medium of communication used by these actors.
Responding to what appears to be an attack on local movie production, the spokesperson bemoaned the “political stance” always taken by Mr. Aseidu Nketia against some personalities in the movie industry.
He stated that their work is to amuse, educate and inform the public on issues that will benefit the people of this county.

This time I agree with Asiedu Nketsia. It was needless and waste of time.
Hmmmmm..a clear case of "if u can't beat them join them"....i wonder why ppl rain attacks on anything kumawood. Most of the actors haven't gotten the opportunity that we got to excel in our academics yet some of them have excelled economically more than us. The industry only educates and entertains What else do u want from them. Perhaps the hatred is born out of tribal and political lines. In any case, kumawood movies sell more than any other movie Industry in Ghana. Go to Europe and America these guys are making the bucks. It's very funny we've unemployed graduates yet the likes of Agya koo, Lil win and Kwaku manu are busy making money. U guys should think twice whenever u want to spew unprintable words about them.
Really! It is unnecessary to stage a play on the independence Day. It is very important to educate the public about girl child education but not on Independence Day. The kumawood can come out with tv series about girl child education and encourage all the tv stations in the country to show the series to the general public. Please stop attacking Asiedu Nketiah! and let us all take our national events very serious.
foreigners will continue to be foreigners.let us respect and value our values, morals and culture as Ghanaians. The drama was intended for ghanaians and whoever doesn't understand twi must get an interpreter. Even not all ghanaians understand twi not to talk of foreigners. The actors did well so let's praise them. We can never please all foreigner but we can please ghanaians. its was Ghana at 60 not foreigners at 60.
Asiedu is from grace to grass now oo ppl
Only in Ghana. It was boring and embarrassing to have such foreign dignitaries and 'molest' them with such a lacklustre performance at a 60 yrs anniversary. For sure our president could not look in the face of the dignitaries both local and foreign after that. The security forces and all others in the arena were praying for it to end quickly. If we want to thank Agyako for the campaign let us find another stage. 60 yrs is serious business.
Where from this attack on Nana Ama? What bearing has your comment and the article? People like you are just ***barred word***. You are a clear representation of an Educated Illiterate. How many of the Gh actress can match Nana Ama's class? For is temporal, class is permanent. Who is that Emelia Brobbey? Please don't put her on this platform for any attacks because she might be minding her own business. You are just F0OOLISH!!!
Asiedu Nkatia don't mind actress in Ghana they don't know what your saying expecially Nana ama . Nana ama who are you you make your self like you buy food for everybody in Ghana .I respect Emilia Brobber very well
The Kumawood Performance on the 6th March Day was very embarrassing & disgraceful. If you are going to do something on such a stage invest time and knowledge. You don't come and embarrass yourselves as Agya Koo & his guys did. Where were the best industry players (Lilwin, Bill, Nana Amma, etc.). It was not well directed. Wrong is wrong and Asiedu Nketia is right this time. It was Ghana Independence Day with international gusts so you can't come and disgrace us and expect us to keep quiet.
u aseidu actor ie kamawwood wat do know with ur big br.......st ohhhh
