Within a week of its release, Kuami Eugene’s latest single, ‘Confusion’ has already garnered over 300,000 views on YouTube. However, the mellow love song is not only drawing views and praises but also criticisms.
Some entertainment analysts have pointed out the unmissable similarities between Kwami Eugene’s song, and Grammy-nominated Malian musician, Sidiki Diabaté’s 2016 hit single, ‘Fais moi Confiance’, which means ‘trust me’.
Kelly Nii Lartey Mensa of ShowbizPundits.com wrote on on his Facebook: “Kuami Eugene, honestly I’m disappointed. How can you copy somebody’s song 100% …are you taking your fans for granted? I’m not happy at all. Very unfortunate”

Kuami Eugene did not steal anything, the melody just sounds similar, let him be, as Ghanaians we should be there to support him not tear him down. This is why Nigerians look down upon us. Smh.
Eeissh Ghanaians.. I'm even ashamed to be a Ghanaian right now. When the Nigerians laugh at us we wonder why. SMH. We like pull him down too much. Wow. Music is music.. No one owns "melody". Fine you guys are saying he stole the song.. Which it's not true because the lyrics are completely different. And sampling isn't illegal in the music world. The guy took the song and mastered it.. Instead of praising him.. Our OWN. Nope.. Ghanaians will rather tarnish his name. When WizKid copied VIP song do you know what the Nigerians said.. They said so what, even if he copied.. He perfected the song. Same as the azonto dance. That yes it belongs to Ghana but they made it popular. Its about time we wake up as Ghanaians and support our own. My goodness let the boy be. Enough
