Ghana FA Spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Darra has revealed his plans to push for tougher sanctions to be meted out to Premier League clubs that do not organize pre and post-match press conferences.
Despite agreeing to the request by the Ghana FA to hold regular press conferences before and after domestic top flight games, most clubs have failed to adhere to the requirement.
“The idea of fining clubs for not organizing press conferences was proposed but we also wanted to act as matured people and give the clubs the benefit of the doubt but this is now an opportunity for me to propose that since it did not work, we must apply tougher sanctions,” Sannie Darra told Starr FM.
The GFA’s motive behind organizing pre and post-match press conferences is to promote the local league games and give the competition’s title sponsor First Capital Plus Bank enough mileage.
