Herbert Mensah, Former Chairman of Fabulous Asante Kotoko has expressed condolences to the families of the victims in the tragic accident involving the Kumasi-based team.
The team buss of Asante Kotoko Football Club was yesterday, Wednesday, 13th August involved in a fatal accident that claimed the life of the team's equipment officer, Kofi Asare and several others seriously injured.
Mr Asare's body has since been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital morgue at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
The accident is sais to have occurred around 9:45pm at Nkawkaw, when the bus reportedly ran into a stationary Kia Rhino truck carrying bags of fertilizers.
The team were returning to Kumasi on Wednesday, 12 July, 2017 after their 0-1 defeat to Inter Allies in a Premier League game.
Condoling with the team, Herbert Mensah said in a video recording that his reaction to the tragic news is "one of sorrow. My reaction is one of support. My reaction is one of respect for the family of the deceased, for the Kotoko family in general. We stand together. We stand united grieving at this moment in time and hopefully we will become stronger for it, more unified, more patient, more tolerant for it. Because if we have faith, we can only say God knows best”.
