League champions Accra Hearts Of Oak have completed their first major signing for next season by re-engaging prolific attacker Bernard Dong Bortey. The player confirmed to some Sports Journalists last Sunday when he played in the coronation match between Hearts and Olympics, saying he was glad to have returned to his former club.
Bortey had an unsuccessful six-month loan spell in Israel and had to return home to re-launch his career. But the inability of Hearts to secure his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the Israeli side prevented him from playing in the just ended Glo Premiership League. This will be the second time he is returning to the Phobains, as he failed to impress another Israeli side Macabi Tel Aviv some few years ago where John Painstil, who presently plays for English giant Fulham, played before.
The signing of Bortey would be a major boost to the fortunes of Hearts who are returning to Africa after a years absence into the more lucrative CAF Champions League next season. With some players set to exit the team, the Phobians are hoping to sign some few more players to bolster their squad for Africas most lucrative championship. Already, rumors suggest Hearts are bent on preparing to write formally to Liberty and King Faisal striker Yaw Antwi and nimble- footed Enoch Ebo Andoh
