Cape Coast Referees Association XI gained a narrow 1-0 victory over their Sports Council staff team in the second edition of their annual soccer match played at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Saturday as part of the Christmas activities.
The first edition last year ended 1-1.
In a match of equals that ended scoreless at half time, it was the referees who came back strongly to score the match winner in the 55th minute through a free kick expertly taken by Charles Nyarko.
Later the Sports Council staff entertained the referees and co-workers to food and drinks amid music and dancing.
Mr Mathew Doe, Central Regional Chairman of the Ghana Football Association and Mr Patrick Akowua, Sports Development Officer of Sports Council, Cape Coast graced the ceremony.
