The Ghana Referees Association has confirmed they will not appeal against the hefty sanctions imposed on seven referees for poor officiating.
The match officials including J.A Amenyah, Vincent Otoo, Isaac Effah, Ali Musah Plato, S.B Bortey, Solomon Mordey and Seidu Bomison were slapped with various degrees of punishments.
Many soccer fans have hailed the new move from the Ghana Federation which is intended to improve the level of officiating and instill professionalism in the knight of the whistle.
We will not appeal against the sanctions on our men because we believe its all geared towards improving their performance, General Secretary Alex Quartey said.
We all want the best for the league and so if they were found culpable, they should be made to face the music.
It is not intended to kill their profession, but to reform them.
If we think the review committee went too far, well come to their aid.
Referee J.A Amenyah and Isaac Effah were the heaviest hit with a 13-week ban for their handling of matches involving Ebusua Dwarfs and Bechem United and Tema Youth and Asante Kotoko respectively.
