Nineteen Black Stars players left Accra on Friday night to commence camping in South Africa for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team led by the vice president of the Ghana FA Jordan Anagblah traveled via South African Airways.
The team is expected to arrive in Rustenburg on Saturday where they will be joined by Head Coach Goran Stevanovic who also flew out from his native Serbia on Friday.
Six other players will later join the team to finalize preparations for tournament which runs from 21 January to 12 February.
The Black Stars will be based at the plush Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex for two weeks and will play test matches against Kaizer Chiefs, South Africa and Platinum Stars.
Ghana will leave for the Gabonese city of Franceville on 19 January ahead of their opening group game against Botswana on January 24.
