The Ghana FA has wished midfielder Andre Ayew a speedy recovery following his operation to fix a recurring shoulder problem.
The 22-year-old Olympique Marseille enforcer went to hospital in Lyon on Tuesday to undergo tests before having an operation on the shoulder.
The Ghana Football Association is delighted over news that the operation was a success.
We are delighted the operation went so smoothly and successfully, Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ghanaians are praying for you to recover properly and return to the game you love most.
At this point all we can say is our thoughts are with you (Andre) and we hope you make a speedy recovery.
Ayew is expected to be out of action for for about three months.
He will miss Ghanas World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia in June.
