Former Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah has decided to come to the aid of the children of late Ghana Education, Youth and Sports Minister Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu who passed on exactly six years ago today.
Baah-Wiredu is regarded as one of Ghana's best ministers in recent years and was known for his down-to-earth attitude, selfless deeds, dedication and exemplary conscientiousness.
Appiah who was sacked as Ghana coach last week, was touched by the plight of the widow of the late minister as she recounted the daily hardships she passes through trying to get an SHS admission for the last daughter of the late Finance and Economic Planning minister. She also lamented how members of her late husband's party had neglected the family and how monies donated into the Baah Wiredu Foundation never got to the little children left behind by the former Local Government Minister.
Kwasi Appiah called into Angel Fm's Morning Show programme hosted by Kwame Adinkra immediately after the widow had finished her telling, and in a very sombre mood promised to reach out to the family. Kwasi Appiah is a known public-spirited man and as proven by his latest act of generosity.
Baah Wiredu died in Pretoria South Africa on 24 September 2008 where he was receiving medical treatment following a short illness
