Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi says it is close to securing a sponsorship deal for the lower tier league.
He indicated at the FA secretariat last Friday that all things being equal, a colossal amount of GH600,000 (close to $200,000) from the GM Bank would be injected into the lower league.
The GFA chief stated that his outfit had mandated a sub-committee to study a proposal for the sponsorship of the Division One League (DOL).
The Executive Committee have mandated a sub-committee to study a proposal for the sponsorship of the Division One League.
The sponsorship package is to the tune of GH600,000 from the GM Bank, FA president Nyantakyi said at a press conference.
The 48-club league has been without a headline sponsor for some time now, and it is believed that should the deal materialize, it will serve as a major boost for the league.
The sub-committee, put together by the Ghana FA Executive Committee, is expected to look into the fine details of the prospective sponsorship package before the deal is signed.
