Newly appointed Black Stars coach Avram Grant believes his side is unlucky to be missing the services of Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah at the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
The versatile midfielder will not be making Ghanas squad to the tournament which kicks starts from January 17 to February 8 after successfully going through a knee surgery which keeps him out of action for four months.
The 24-year-olds injury has served as a major blow for Avram Grant who is willing to acquire his best players ahead of the tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
The former West Ham United and Portsmouth manager who has been tasked to do well at the 2015 African Cup of Nations has therefore described Asamoahs injury as unfortunate.
Kwadwo Asamoah will be out because he is injured. He is one of the best players, Grant said.
A very good player with good mentality and is unfortunate we will be missing him at the tournament.
The former Udinese player has been an integral member of the Black Stars squad for the past four years.
