Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey tasted victory in his first UEFA Champions League match as Rosenborg edged APOEL Nicosia 2-1 at home in the third qualifying round first leg on Wednesday.
Kwarasey was only playing his second competitive match for the Norwegian champions since switching from MLS side Portland Timbers.
Rosenborg raced into a 2-0 lead at half time through Christian Gytkjar and Jorgen Skjelvik.
But the Cypriot club seems to have scored an important consolation goal through Giorgos Efrem on 68 minutes.
Last Saturday, made his debut for the club in their 6-0 win over Haugesund in the Norwegian Eliteserien.
