Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has called for attitudinal change if the Black Stars are to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
A disappointing start to the qualification campaign saw Ghana draw with the Cranes of Uganda last week. A result that has irked Ghanaians who have started calling for change in how the team is managed.
Fred Pappoe in an interview with Kumasi based Otec FM remarked that “if we keep doing what we are doing and do not change we will not qualify. People who have been placed in a position to help must be up and doing. Everyone concerned with the team must wake up from his slumber and work. They must bury their pride, work in unity and harmony for the team. If we don’t do that, we will not qualify.”
The Black Stars are currently on winless run of four games with their next game against the in form Pharaohs of Egypt

The cause of all these uncertainties in the team's performance is the position that the sports minister has taken to go after the blood of the GFA President. Nii Lante started from 2009 immediately NDC came to power because he thought Kwasi Nyantakyi was an asante and NPP man. He and other have tried all means including the use of state institutions to haunt his and the FA. SO far it hasn't worked for Nii Lante. Recently the deputy sports minister has said that the government will show the FA where power lies. Nii Lante and his team of "powerful people" must know that Ghana has consistently appeared at the world cup from Germany, S. A. through Brazil, and we expect that we shall be represented at the next world cup finals, nothing less. Im giving notice to Nii Lante that if he sticks to the dictates of his block headed team and takes any st-u-pid actions that scuttles out efforts to towards our march towards our fourth world cup appearance he will dearly pay for it, whether he is in power or not.
