Israeli trainer Avram Grant wants to see out his contract before leaving his post as head coach of the Black Stars.
The former Chelsea boss is facing the sack by his employers after recent poor outings with the Black Stars team.
The team has been unable to record a victory in their last five matches fueling calls for him to vacate the position as head Coach.
Grant whose contract with the Ghana Football Association expires in June next year says he wants to stay on as head Coach of the Black Stars.
“Yes I’d love to stay here, we have the African Cup of Nations, our target is very clear. I always want to finish my contract and my contract expires after the end of the African Cup that was two years and three months ago,” Grant told Metro TV.
“I want to win the African Cup. It will not be easy, there are other good teams but this is possible and I want to do it.
“In football you cannot think beyond two or three months. Let’s do what we need to do at the African Cup and then we think about what’s next.” Grant added.
The Ghana Football Association are reportedly preparing to terminate the contract of the 61-year-old after the Coach allegedly ignored the FA’s request to return to the country after Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Egypt in the World Cup qualifier.

Coach Avram Grant asked for the return of KP Boateng and Sulley Muntari. The GFA decided not to bring them because "they do not respect". With Boateng and Muntari, Ghana would not have conceded those two goals to Egypt. Ghana would have won home and away. But we must also remember that someone with links in the GFA forces Jordan Ayew and Christian Atsu on the coaches. Jordan Ayew has never scored any serious goals since he joined the Black Stars. Left to Jordan Ayew alone, we would not have qualified for the 2014 World Cup, he wasted many chances. Jordan Ayew does not score, and he does not give assists. He plays for himself and himself only. Christian Atsu is not maturing. He plays like an Under 17 players. No wonder both players are not in good clubs. Jordan's club, Aston Villa is relegated. We know how good Aston Villa was. But with a striker who does not score and does not give good assists, you are bound to be relegated. Christian Atsu has been a benchwarmer in Europe. It is no coincidence because serious clubs in Europe need results. They do not need so many misses. So we need to think well. Before we rush to blame Avram Grant, we have to find out how these two players get to strike for our team ALL the time. Senior players who are far better and more creative than these two players have lost interest in the Black Stars. Dede Ayew and Kwadwo Asamoah always play half-hearted games because the most important roles are given to these players who do not producer results. Ghanaians must wake up. It is easier to blame the coach but underperforming players and interest groups in the GFA must be checked. Bring back KP Boateng and Muntari. And bench Jordan and Atsu. They are below the mark for serious games. Bring Kwadwo Asamoah and Dede Ayew forward and try new strikers. We are tired of Jordan Ayew and Christian Atsu!
Leave the coach alone to complete his assignment. The scenario surrounding the national team recently has caused the decline. The sports minister's negative utterances demotivated then to lose concentration. The banning of the key players not to play for the national team is a self inflicted wounds. Forgive and forget and manage their egos for we need their huge talents to excel. Players like K P Boateng, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien [Half fit is even better than some of these midfielders], Inaki Williams, Phil Ofosu Aryeh,Kwadwo Asamoah[when fit][invite some of the Ghanaian strikers in Egypt] Please drop Jordan Ayew from the starting line up.Drop the goalkeeper too. Drop Afful or shift him to no.3 to compete with Baba Rahman. Avram Grant as a foreign coach can manage their egos well well.
LEAVE THE COACH ALONE. IF THERE IS SOMEBODY YOU NEED TO TALK TO, IT SHOULD BE NII LANTEY VANDAPOYE. HE PLANNED ALL THESE SET BACKS FOR THE BLACK STARS TO PROVE A POINT AND NOW HE HAS IT. SHAME ON HIM.
We lost all our senior players, namely: Kevin Boateng, Sulle Muntatari, Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien, and the rest of the good ones are retired. It is not your fault.
