On Tuesday 22nd May 2018, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was directed by President Akufo-Addo to probe into alleged fraudulent practices of the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi captured in the yet-to-be released documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
“Ghana is the easiest place to do business. All you have to do is to give the President of Ghana $5m and the Vice President $3m....I see him (President) every day. As for the refs, all you need is to give them GH¢20 and girls and they are sorted,” Nyantakyi is alleged to have said in the video.
The FA President who was in Morocco on official duties by then, arrived on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 and was escorted straight to the CID Headquarters by personnel who had been stationed at the Kotoka International Airport.
Speaking to the media on Thursday before making an appearance at the office of the Deputy Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to report himself as part of his bail terms, Nyantakyi said he would have loved to be in the news while carrying a trophy; adding “that would have been better”.
He described issues that have cropped up in the media concerning him as ‘bad publicity’.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Joy FM’s Newsfile programme, mentor of Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr who considered himself a fan of the GFA boss, said he is hurt by what is happening to Mr Nyantakyi but added that his (Nyantakyi's) ‘integrity’ is ‘almost irredeemable’.
The seasoned journalist also debunked claims that the embattled GFA President stated in the yet to be released investigative video on the rot in Ghana football that President Akufo-Addo was in his pocket.
“There is no such thing as the president is in my pocket,” he said.
The focus of the Anas' latest exposé titled “NUMBER 12” was to capture the alleged rot in Ghana Football, and the investigation centred on football administrators, referees, and footballers.
Details of the documentary’s release have emerged on fliers and billboards, indicating it will be premiered in Accra on June 6, 2018, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
There will also be screenings in Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi between June 9 and June 16.

If Kwaku Baako and Anas/Tiger eye/BBc[Foreigners} could spy on Nana/Bawumia then it should be a breach on Ghanaian security.{very dangerous indeed} It means anything can happen to them. Where was the Ghanaian security? What authority has Anas got to spy on our President and his vice?
Anas is doing a good job but should record only real issues without getting involved with his team. But to parade jezebel women and money is a wrong move. With this weapons of the devil everybody can become a victim. Kwaku Baako even admitted on a radio program that he can fall to that. In another program he said if anybody falls to this trap that person has no integrity [Which is which?] I don't think that GFA man did anything wrong apart from bragging At that position it is normal to look for sponsors all the time. So, what do you want him to do if some people claim to be sponsors? I think he got carried away, hence, the loose talks. I think Ken is making a good point because it is going to be a "Mary go round" issue if care is not taken. FIFA may not listen because it is a set up. How come BBC/Tiger eye will not go to England and trap the FA except his own black person[Colonial mentality and pull him down attitude "abro ne bayie" syndrome. Maybe that is why the Black men are struggling achieve something. In Africa we have some finest brains to manage our own affairs but hatred and jealousy has blindfold us..Fighting corruption is good but do it in a decent way.
I thought mature journalists like you would wait for the right time to pass the verdict. You are doing worse than what you blamed the president for. Breaching confidentiality, trying your best to correct the harm you have caused to your friends. If I were you I will keep quiet for now because the more you talk, the more you expose yourselves. Ghanaians can read between the lines.
KWEKU BAAKU U CAUSE ALL THIS MESS WHY CONVINCED ANNAS TO SHOW THE VIDEO TO ONLY PRES ADDO AND NOT ALL OTHERS IN THE VIDEO. KWEKU BAAKU DO U LOVE GHANA OR NPP KNOW THAT WE R ALL EQUAL IN D SITE OF GOD . KEN APPRECIATE ANNAS N HELP HIM
Who Jah bless, no one curse. By divine intervention he can become bigger than who he is today. Baako you are not God.
And you are happy? Remember the bible 'sumtudoa' Hmmmm the judgment day.
Kodjo Ansah, are you among the thie.ves???
Kwaku is TRYING very hard to shift the shame of this investigation onto the FA boss!! It is the president who comes out smelly and soiled!! STOP trying hard to push the public perception of the president into a corner suitable to your narrative!
Dear Kweku. Please, if the GFA boss said all that, SO WHAT? Who defines morality or integrity for who? Recall you have said we are a secular system, so you will never bow before a monarch. GREAT, because no legality can fault you on that. In same vain as we are in a secular system, by your postulation, to the extent that the GFA boss will be able to free himself off any legalities, please Kweku, read my lips, his INTEGRITY WILL STAND TILL THY KINGDOM COME, for we the People, living in PROJECT GHANA, are not going to be measured by KWEKU BAAKO's definition of INTEGRITY. What you do not know is that, in this present post-colonial era, that you connived with BBC to sponsor your activity of spying on our officials, some of us find it nauseating enough, to the extent that if I had any legal training, I will look for the appropriate elements in our laws to push you and Anas on charges of espoignage. WHAT would have been the COMBINED EFFECT, if the BBC through you and Anas, had succeeded to entangle our President and Vice President in this foolhardiness of spy-work for a foreign agent? THINK ABOUT IT.
