The veteran coach has advised Kwesi Appiah to disregard calls to hand the midfielder another opportunity ahead of the Afcon qualifier.
Former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak coach J.E Sarpong has insisted that Sassuolo midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng must not be drafted back into the Ghana squad five years after he was sacked from the team's camp during the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
The 31-year-old prematurely retired from international football in 2011, citing fatigue from combining club football and international duties but later rescinded his decision and represented the Black Stars at the World Cup three years later.
However, he was dismissed from the team's camp together with Sulley Muntari on disciplinary grounds and has been banned indefinitely, but with the Black Stars struggling in the 2019 Afcon qualifiers, some Ghanaians believe coach Kwesi Appiah must call him back for the double header against Sierra Leone next month.
“Every coach need quality players in their teams but it shouldn't be at the expense of his principles," Sarpong told Joy Sports.
“If you are a player and you are not disciplined, it makes the coach's work extremely difficult because the young players may emulate the bad behaviours from those who feel like superstars and destroy the chemistry of the team.
“Boateng is doing well now in Italy since he has been scoring goals for Sassuolo but that doesn't warrant him a comeback to the national team. Personally, I believe it’s a big no for his return, so if Appiah is not inviting him I think it is a step in the right direction," he added.
Ghana will host Sierra Leone at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on October 11 before travelling to Freetown for the return fixture three days later.
