Despite his tough moments at Hearts of Oak and AshGold, C.K. Akonnor has described his short stay with Asante Kotoko as the most challenging in his coaching career.
The former Black Stars skipper who had stints with the Phobians and the Aboakese lads also spent time with Dreams FC and Sekondi Eleven Wise.
But he believes his current job with the Porcupine Warriors is the most challenging of his career.
In an exclusive interview with Footballmadeinghana.com, the former Black Stars player stressed that the circumstances in taking over the Asante Kotoko job makes it his biggest and the most challenging.
“Of course is Kotoko. At Hearts of Oak I think it was as a result of impatience.
“I can understand them because Togbe had to. But if they had been a bit patient, I could have changed things.
“For Ashgold I put myself in that risk, but Kotoko, I went without knowing we will take part in a competition, also there was nothing going on.
“I was starting to prepare for the 6-7 months competition to start and all of a sudden this competition came.
“Quickly it was a big challenge even the players there weren’t fit, and I have to organize the team within a month,” he noted.
Akonnor has managed to steer the Porcupine Warriors to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite having a short period to prepare the team for the competition.
