Each club participating in the Ghana Premier League will receive an amount of US$30,000 as sponsorship from the StarTimes Television Broadcast Rights for the 2019/2020 season.
This follows the release of a breakdown of the sponsorship funds by the Ghana Football Association.
In total, the Ghana Premier League will receive US$700, 000 from the StarTimes deal out of which US$540, 000 will go directly to the clubs while the rest of the amount will take care of “administrative work, the merit awards for positioning on the league table and officiating expenses.”
The yearly breakdown was explained to the 18 Premier League clubs during their meeting with the GFA on Tuesday, the GFA said in a statement.
US$150,000 will also be shared among clubs including those in the Premier League for participating in the FA Cup.
In all, StarTimes is committing US$5.25 million into the Ghana Premier League, FA Cup, Division One League and Women’s football.
