Black Stars players were given $20,000 each as appearance fee for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, according to Ghana Football Association communications director Henry Asante Twum.
He argued that some players of other national teams got more, claiming Gabon paid each player $60,000.
"Black Stars players didn't get any bonus because they didn't win a game but they got $20,000 each as appearance fee. Other countries paid more. Gabon took $60,000,” he told Starr FM.
Ghana suffered a shock first round at the just-ended tournament, in which Senegal were crowned champions after beating Egypt on penalties in Sunday's final.
The four-time African champions did not win a single match and claimed one point from a possible nine to finish bottom of their group.
Black Stars opened their campaign with a defeat against Morocco, drew with Gabon and then were stunned by debutants Comoros 3-2 - a defeat that confirmed Ghana's first group stage exit since 2006.
As a result, Milovan Rajevac has been sacked and Ghanasoccernet.com understands his successor will be former Premier League coach Chris Hughton.
Black Stars return to action in March when they take on Nigeria in the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Please, where did they get the money from, is it CAF or GOG? If it's CAF they should bring half of the money to the people of Ghana, you can't go and chop the tax payers money for free without bringing any results. If the money is from GOG, i.e. Government of Ghana they should refund it. Our players are not serious, even a coup in Burkina Faso could not stop the Burkinabe players from going as far as the semifinals. Our captain will enter the field and waste all the 90 minutes in clapping his hands, when did football become 'ampe'? Comoros paaaa defeating Ghana, Ghana chopping last in their group. We will soon add them to the P-cians as the most unproductive groups of people in Ghana. From 1983 to date Ghana black stars have not even won a disposable cup. How were they feeling when they saw Sadio Mane and his colleagues lift the trophy? Kudos to Senegal, they deserve victory, their coach is home grown, a son of the soil. Ghana ' 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982 wins.. Maybe the 20,000.00 dollars each should go to the surviving players/ families in these year groups. Thus Nkrumah, Col Acheampong and Rawlings are the only Ghanaian leaders to have touched the African cup. The rest, hahahaaaa.
Wasting the scarce foreign exchange all in the name of Ghana Back Stars?!
