Deputy Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson has mocked the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s promise to allocate $ 1 million to each constituency annually across the country when it assumes power, saying the amount is woefully inadequate to develop his area.
The running mate of the NPP, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, who’s on a tour of the Central Region was recently in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam constituency, where the Deputy Minister is the Member of Parliament and promised them that a future NPP government will doll out $ 1 million to the constituency each year to facilitate development of the area.
However addressing a teeming crowd at a mini rally at Enyan Abaasa after submitting his nomination forms at the offices of the EC on Thursday, Hon. Ato Forson stated that in the most unlikely event that the NPP wins power, giving out that amount to every constituency will be nothing exceptional, for which the NPP should be praised for doing.
He urged his constituents to pay death ear to the phantom promises of the NPP, adding that Dr Bawumia has no message to convince the electorate to vote for the NPP.
“Dr Bawumia was here the other day saying that the NPP wll give each constituency including Ajumako Enyan Essiam $1 million each year when the party assumes power.
The infrastructure development that has been witnessed here in our constituency in a single year under President John Mahama is about twenty times more than what the NPP is promising you.
Even Abaasa alone the development here is more than $4 million, look at the several roads that have been constructed in this constituency, so tell Bawumia I say he’s not said anything extraordinary.”

Well I guess he does not understand what Bawumia said. He said they will give each constituency $1M do tackle their local needs and where government thinks big assistance is needed they will come their way. This is a way is to stop excessive overdraft by the DCEs which increase the indebtness of the government. A smart guy would understand this easily so why this guy is pretending not to understand? May be he is saying this to keep his job. So now can he come out to tell us what and what was done to $20M? What was the distance of Abaasa road that cost $4M?
only a fuuuuuuuul will vote for this guy and Mahama to run Ghana's affairs.
Exposed! NDC EXPOSED BIG TIME! Mahama has spent $20m in Atto's constituency? Agya nkrofuo yi ye akronfuo! Where is the impact? All gone into thier pockets!
And you made half of that from ur corrupt acts
If Dr Bawumia says you people are incompetent you think he is joking, how can you say the prez has spent 20 million dollars in your constituency, if so then your constituency should be one of the most developed places in Ghana. if not then point out each project for us to see.And by the way did you hear or read what the Vice Chancellor of University of Ghana said in his address on the state of the Economy.
In jobs or what. Indepedent groups should go and audit the job. 20,000 can be 20..... It also means what Dr says is possible
and still his people are saying one million for each constituency is impossible. what kind of life is this
That is ur constituency
Is Ato Forson not tired of lying to the people about these phantom development projects by this government; why is a young man like Ato forson taken the path of propaganda and lying ; does he understand how much $20million can do ;besides why does he not list these projects for everybody to see-OHH ATOO !!!!!!!!PLEASE; $20 million will build small scale industries that can the unemployment situation ; did Ato Forson divert the cash to build his hotel rather than spend it in his constituency ?
