President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, has described as ‘blatant lies’ comments made by the Minster for Youth and Sports that he had communicated his intentions to resign his position to him if he ever wins the FIFA Executive Committee position.
Challenging calls by Hon. Vanderpuye in a radio interview on Accra-based Radio Gold, the sports minister revealed that Mr. Nyantakyi has officially disclosed his intent to resign his position as it has been the norm for most of the Federations heads,
But Mr. Nyantakyi stressed that he had never met or spoken with the minister anywhere neither has he made any official phone call to him to discuss any issue.
“I simply don’t know where all these misinformation is coming from. I accept if you don’t like me but I will not tolerate it if such untruths will be peddled around by the minister.”
A very furious Nyantakyi also described Hon. Vanderpuye’s calls to resign as a display of naivety on the functions and requirements of appointees who serve on the highest football decision making board.
“When you go on the FIFA Board, there are several examples of various Federation Heads serving on the board so I feel he should get his facts rights before he decides to make comments concerning my appointment.”
He also revealed that even though they were ready to liaise with the Ministry for the proper administration of football in the country, the minister’s unsubstantiated comments and his continuous intent to malign the activities of the FA would only lead to the retrogression of football development in the country.

O O Ghana, what at all is our problem in the sport administration. Nyantekyi is the best at hand so let us support him than to lie against him.The more you N D C people lie on him, the more he improve upwards.N D C minister you are sinking so stop that and think about your party. Amen.
I now know people are not reading at all. This is an old story carried by ghanasoccernet.com last week which the minister has denied making such statement. Today news paper is now publishing it and people are commenting as if it is news. All these news papers want to sell their papers with unnecessary stories.
Vanderpuye did the same thing at IOC and eventually had to eat a humble pie. Who makes such a litigant a minister? Full of envy and insidious venom.
Nii Lante Vanderpuije is the "Minister for Kwesi Nyantakyi" and not sports. He wakes up and all he thinks about is Nyantakyi. All he does is to talk and talk without results. A careful look will tell you that our football is taking a nose-dive. Square peg in round hole.
@Boapong What do you know about football administration? Go and find out how it works before saying what you don't know.
Well spoken. Don't allow these babies to take you for granted. You are an intellectual and not stomach politicians like them. Bravo. Yos talk base on facts whilst they say what their pay masters want them to say.
Nyantekye is just a greedy man . If you moved on let someone else take up the FA job and stop all these display of raw greed. We football lovers will not hide behind politics and close our eyes on your bad and corrupt leadership at the GFA.
nyantekye is doing very with his job which make ghana tale in football list of countries. why this bitterness and jealousy to remove him from office. I remember some people did the same thing to former GIMPA Boss and today go and see the mess in GIMPA. stop this character of pull him down, please.
All NDC ministers are untruthful people. Give it to them FA boss... The end of their govt is coming to an end very very soon...
